Terms of Service

PATHS Navigation is an accessible route planning and navigation service for wheelchair users and people with mobility impairments. It provides route suggestions with slope and barrier information, turn-by-turn guidance, and lets the community report route conditions. Parts of the service rely on third-party map, elevation and transit data.

To use the app you need an account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity under your account. Notify us promptly at privacy@pathsnav.com if you suspect unauthorised access. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

PATHS Navigation helps you plan and follow routes, but the physical world changes faster than any map. Construction, snow, ice, broken lifts, parked vehicles and other obstacles can appear at any time, and community reports and slope data may be incomplete, outdated or inaccurate. Route suggestions are informational only. Always assess your surroundings and your own abilities, follow traffic rules and use your own judgment. PATHS Navigation is not a substitute for personal care, assistance services or emergency services. If you are in danger, contact the emergency services (112 in Sweden).

You agree not to:

• break the law, infringe anyone's rights, or use PATHS Navigation to harm others;
• submit false, misleading or spam reports about route conditions;
• upload malware, attempt to break our security, or probe for vulnerabilities without permission;
• scrape, resell, or commercially redistribute the service or its data;
• submit personal data about other identifiable individuals without a lawful basis.

You retain ownership of the content you submit (for example route condition reports and photos). You grant us a non-exclusive licence to host, process, display and share that content within the service so that other users can benefit from it — that is the point of community reporting. Reports are shown to other users without your name unless you choose otherwise. We do not sell your content.

The PATHS Navigation application, brand, code, design and documentation are owned by PATHS Navigation and protected by applicable IP laws. Map data remains subject to its providers' licences. These Terms do not transfer any IP rights to you.

PATHS Navigation is currently free to use while in early access. If we introduce paid plans in the future, prices and terms will be clearly presented before you are asked to pay anything, and these Terms will be updated.

You may close your account at any time in the app or by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if continued service would create a security or fraud risk. Where reasonable we will give notice first.

PATHS Navigation is provided "as is" and "as available". We work hard to keep it reliable, but we cannot guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted or error-free, or that third-party data (maps, elevation, transit, community reports) is accurate — see section 3.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages or for injuries or losses resulting from route conditions, obstacles or inaccurate map data, and our aggregate liability in connection with the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (currently zero, as the service is free). Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory consumer law, including liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change materially affects your rights we will give you reasonable notice (for example by email or an in-app notice) before it takes effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. Disputes will be resolved by the Swedish courts, with Stockholms tingsrätt as the court of first instance. As a consumer you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in your country of residence, and to use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/odr.
